Solicitors When you Need Them

There is no denying the fact that our economy has hit some terrible times over the past couple of years. Whilst the banks have left us all to pick up the pieces and the governments of the G20 countries refuse to appease their citizens and address these issues accordingly, things appear to be getting worse and worse for us all.

One area of law that is realising massive increases in enquiries to solicitors is employment. There is a combination of financial pressure on employers and also a certain degree of manipulation of the current climate that means that a lot of employees are facing some of the harshest working conditions that have existed in generations.

There is a large percentage of employers that know that their staff will be concerned about being made redundant and having to face the indignity of approaching their local job center As a result, more and more staff are having to cope with their wages being slashed and a higher workload to secure their roll of employment.

Rule number one here must be that you should not just put up with arbitrary changes to your contract of employment without seeking some form of legal advice from employment law solicitors. The best news here is that this need not cost you anything if you can prove that you have a low expendable income.

Legal Aid is made available to people on low wages for initial advice - so you have nothing to lose but perhaps plenty to gain. If you really do have a strong case and a fundamental breach of employment law can be identified, you would be able to secure further financial help through certain solicitors and they may be able to fight your employer all the way.
