A day in the life of a solicitor is never dull and is often eventful! Depending on the type of specialisation that a solicitor offers he or she can find themselves embroiled in so many types of cases.
There are those who deal with businesses on a day to day basis and can find themselves resolving business disputes from broken purchase contracts to unfulfilled logistic and shipping services. These types of jobs require skill and expert knowledge of the law, but at the end of the day they are between businesses and often detached from real emotion.
It must be harder to deal with the cases that concern individuals such as personal injury and accident, divorce and custody cases. A broken business contract, while unpleasant for the individuals themselves is often not a make or break situation.
Divorces and custody though, are, and it must be very difficult to deal with the emotional side of things unless you have a very good shut off switch. Otherwise you face the prospect of work affecting your private life which is never a good thing.
It is very fulfilling to win a law case where the victim gets a really good outcome, as you can take pride in your work and know that you have made a difference to someone's life by winning the case.
